To celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Leonard Bernstein’s birth August 25th, 1918, Gary Crow-Willard is presenting a composite of some music and interviews, both with the composer, conductor, and teacher himself, as well as with those who knew him. Gary will talk about this monarch of American music and share live video of Bernstein and his works. He’ll sing a few of the composer’s most beloved songs as well. Coincidentally, Gary studied voice in New York City in the early 1970’s in the same coop building in which Bernstein lived and died. Gary has a Master of Music in performance from Yale University and has taught voice at Wesleyan University and lectured on musical topics since his graduation 1980.
