History of Friends

History of the Friends of the Longmont Senior Center

The Friends of the Longmont Senior Center has a long history of service to the Longmont Senior Center and the community beyond. It was first incorporated in 1981 as a Colorado non-profit corporation to enhance community awareness and support for the Longmont Senior Center.

In 1983 Friends of the Longmont Senior Center received federal registration as a 501(c)(3) with the Federal Tax Id #84-0860782,

By enhancing community awareness and support for seniors throughout the community, the Friends ensure that quality programs and services are available to all of Longmont's older adults. Since our inception the Friends has always been dedicated to investing in programs, services, operational support, and Senior Center facilities.

Over the years significant gifts were given at key points in time. These gifts along with other generous donations and ad hoc contributions have provided stability and investment opportunities that have allowed the Friends to continuously increase its support of the Longmont Senior Center.

Going forward as participation in the Longmont Senior Center continues to grow, the Friends are making plans to expand its community involvement and strategic investment in programs, services, operations, and facilities. We are dedicated to maintaining the top-quality reputation the Longmont Senior Center is known for.
